I am better known as Kyle’s Mum. I have lived in Broome for over 35 years. I have been with the Foundation from its inception and liaised with Princess Margaret Hospital and Broome friends in ensuring the first Kyle’s Camp was such an amazing experience that we have now been able to provide 23 Camps to kids in need of some sunshine and to feel normal again – Kyle’s wish. rnrnI have held numerous positions on the Committee including Treasurer and was instrumental in the design and building of Kyle’s Cottage and locating our Perth Property ‘Gibb Retreat’ which I have also managed. I live and work in Broome and currently I am the Caretaker at Kyle’s Cottage which I love.rnrnKyle’s 2 older brothers and their families are still living and working in Broome. His 2 younger sisters and nephew now live in Perth. All are active in supporting the Foundation, the Camp and fundraising events.

I met Jero when Kyle was early diagnosed and offered support. My family had lost our youngest child Robert to leukaemia a couple of years prior. The Foundation makes incredible differences in people’s lives who are going through extremely challenging times. To see kids come on camp and have a fantastic time and be kids. The offer of a holiday at minimal cost at one of the world’s best beaches. Family accommodation in Perth for medical follow up and soon family holiday accommodation at Busselton. The Foundation has achieved, given and received so much over the years. I guess I stay involved because I care and we make a positive difference.

KAF is my family, I am honoured to have been involved since I was 10 years old, after growing up and being family friends with Kyle. I love seeing the affect the foundation has on families, children and the wider community. KAF is special it helps to make people to feel better, either through providing support, respite and providing people the opportunity to contribute to a good cause.

I am one of original members of the foundation and I love helping the kids come to terms with their situation. I also love showing them with the help of the foundation that they are not alone and there are lots of people and kids out there who want to help and who understand.

The Kyle Andrews Foundation will always be special to me having known Kyle and growing up with his family in Broome. It’s a foundation with a heart of gold just like Kyle had and it’s an absolute privilege for my family to be involved with the committee.

As Kyle’s older brother and having grown up in Broome, I’ve personally witnessed the immense joy and healing that Broome and the Camp can bring to children and families affected by cancer. rnrnI’m honoured to carry forward his legacy and contribute to making a lasting difference in the lives of many.

My parents have been involved with the Kyle Andrews Foundation since I was a little kid. I’ve grown up alongside the Foundation. I’ve volunteered at Camp for many years and now feel privileged to be part of coordinating a week that means so much to so many families.rnrnI love watching the kids come out of their shells, connect with others going through similar experiences, and simply get to be kids while enjoying the best of Broome. It’s been really special to see how the Foundation has grown and continues to support families beyond Camp. I’m proud to be part of a Foundation that makes such a meaningful impact.

The Kyle Andrews Foundation has been a very special part of my life since I attended camp as a KAF camp kid in 2014. I was fortunate to return as a mentor and volunteer on several other KAF camps, experiences that shaped who I am today. KAF holds a very special place in my heart, and I am incredibly grateful to now give back to a foundation that supported me.
